Sensory Overload
There's a line of severe thunderstorms headed our way right now, so I'm pretty keyed up anticipating their arrival. I was looking out the back door watching for signs of a tornado when two deer and a black cat had the nerve to wander into my yard...at the same time! My long haired person waited for them to leave before letting me out, but I'm confident I could've scared them off on my own.

My First Earthquake
There was a 5.2 magnitude earthquake this morning at the Illinois/Indiana border. St. Louis felt the effects of it around 4:30 a.m. Well, everyone felt it except my people. I tried to warn them by waking up and flapping my ears like I do every morning. My girl person heard me, but then went right back to sleep. My bald person never even moved. I'll have to come up with a better warning signal the next time an earthquake hits. None of us felt the 4.5 aftershock around 10:15 a.m. So, I've experienced my first earthquake...kind of.

Birthday Cake
I know it's like a month after the fact, but I thought I'd post a picture of my bald person's birthday cake. It was pretty awesome. This is what it was supposed to look like...

Of course, we all know that's Mizzou's mascot, Truman. And this is a picture of the actual cake...

Not bad. I think had my other person known the lady was going to use orange icing, she would've suggested she use yellow instead. In any case, it still turned out pretty cool. Even if it does kind of resemble Tony the Tiger instead of Truman. : )
Greg's party was outside at a park last month. I wasn't able to go, so I don't have any pictures. I hear it was fun, but cold. It didn't rain (or snow) though, so that's good. I do know that the fridge is still packed full of beverages that were leftover and will be full for quite some time. I guess it's hard to enjoy a cold drink when you're already freezing. Ha.

Fun With Sand and Water
Lily got a new water and sand table this weekend. My people set it up for her and let her play for a little bit on Sunday. She made quite a mess with it and had a blast doing it. It's a perfect height for me to drink the water, but I chose to leave it alone...this time. It was the first time the hose had been used since last year. Turns out a colony of ants had decided to make their home in the sprayer. Pretty gross. The first round of water in the table had a gazillion ants that quickly drowned. Who would want to drink that?
