Some Pictures

Here are a couple of recent pictures of Lily. This one is of us relaxing together on the bed.

Here's a picture of Lily in her new hat. She got it to wear while swimming at Grandma and Grandpa Stewarts. We don't want that sensitive head of hers to burn in the sun!

Lily went swimming a week or so ago. I hear she loved the water. I wouldn't know though, since my people didn't bother taking me. Maybe I'll get to go next time. Maybe they'll remember to take the camera next time also.

Columbia, Missouri

A few weeks ago my people loaded Lily and I into the car and headed to Columbia, MO to visit some friends. It was a great time. I got to hang out with my friend Jersey. Here's a picture of us together (notice how we're outside while everyone else is inside).

Lily did really well in the car. I'm not sure how I feel about her being able to watch me the entire time though. She sits backwards, so she can see me through the police barricade. That's another thing. Why doesn't she have bars around her? Doesn't she need to be contained as well? Maybe that comes when she gets a little older. She got to make some new friends also. She met Cami and Rory for the first time. Unfortunately, my moronic people didn't take a picture of baby Rory. Here's Lily and Cami though.

Cami even serenaded Lily with "Jesus Loves Me".

Everyone had a great time. On a different note, you may remember me rambling on about my people calling me "dainty". I still don't understand...

6 Month Check-Up

Lily went to the doctor on Monday for her 6 month check-up. Whenever Katie gets back from these, I hear her on the phone giving people Lily's "stats" and reporting on how the visit went. I thought I'd share what I overheard.

She's now 13 lbs. 3 oz. and 24". That's in the fifth to tenth percentile for both height and weight...the doctor likes to call her "petite", but he says that doesn't really predict anything long term. I have never been called "petite", but sometimes Greg and Katie call me "dainty" when I cross my paws. I'm not sure I like this description, but I will continue to lay like a proper dog and cross my paws. I digress...

They tested Lily's vision this time and it's 20/20. I really can't imagine how they go about testing a baby's vision, but they did. The doctor also gave Katie the name of an eye doctor to contact about Lily's blocked tear duct. I guess she's supposed to call him sometime in the next month or two to have it checked out. They may have to clean it out.

Finally, she got 5 more vaccinations. Sheesh, if I were her I would dread going to the doctor. It sounds like they stick her every time she goes!

Lily is starting to babble quite a bit and can clearly say "Mamamama" and "Babababa". She loves to grab my paws when I'm nearby. I'm learning to leave when I get annoyed. This little person is really teaching me a lot about patience. I do good with her, but I still like to bug Greg and Katie. I think my favorite thing to do is stand and stare at them while they watch TV. It drives them crazy. Good times.

6 Months

My people took Lily to get her picture taken this weekend. I really think they need to take me with with them next time. I'd be more than happy to walk through the mall with the family. I promise I'd be calm and relaxed and would pose nicely for a picture. Wink, wink.

I'm hilarious...

Finally, somebody appreciates my humor.

New Bathroom

My people surprised me this past weekend by remodeling my bathroom. I didn't have to do any work. I just hung out and watched while they tore out all the old fixtures and put new stuff in. I have all sorts of new stuff to pee on now. It's great!

For a while, they taunted me by taking the gate off of its hinges. I thought maybe they were so confident in my "respect" for the boundaries that they just didn't need it anymore. I was planning to prove them wrong. However, I ended up getting tied to the tree. They aren't any fun. Anyway, it turned out that the bald one was fixing it. It had something to do with the latch falling off. That doesn't sound like a problem to me. But, in the end, the gate was right back where it always was.
