I'm hilarious...

Finally, somebody appreciates my humor.

New Bathroom

My people surprised me this past weekend by remodeling my bathroom. I didn't have to do any work. I just hung out and watched while they tore out all the old fixtures and put new stuff in. I have all sorts of new stuff to pee on now. It's great!

For a while, they taunted me by taking the gate off of its hinges. I thought maybe they were so confident in my "respect" for the boundaries that they just didn't need it anymore. I was planning to prove them wrong. However, I ended up getting tied to the tree. They aren't any fun. Anyway, it turned out that the bald one was fixing it. It had something to do with the latch falling off. That doesn't sound like a problem to me. But, in the end, the gate was right back where it always was.

Fire

There was a house fire around the corner from us this morning. I heard sirens and took up my post on the corner of the bed to check everything out from the bedroom window. Katie was trying to figure out what was going on and saw several neighbors walking down the street toward the activities. She took Lily and went outside to see what the fuss was about. I heard her call Greg when she got back and say that the house at the corner of Kentwood and McKelvey (for those of you who know the neighborhood) had caught fire. She was told no one was in it at the time. She counted four fire trucks at the scene along with police, ambulance, etc. Later, we heard a helicopter circling outside. Channel 4 news had come to see what was going on. We saw footage on tv and online. It was a very eventful morning.

Baby Dedication

Lily's baby dedication was yesterday at church. Greg and Katie talked about taking me since I'm part of the family, but then they laughed. They thought I wouldn't behave in church or something. Here's a picture of them. I guess there were multiple cameras taking pictures, so they didn't know where to look.

After the dedication, the grandparents came back to the house for a BBQ. I love when everyone comes over because I get a lot of attention AND I'm allowed to eat on my big bone for a long time. Something about keeping me out of trouble. I'm also able to go outside a ton whenever Greg grills. Every time he opens the door, I go through it. It's a great game.

Here's a picture of Lily on her playmat. She has a lot of fun on it.

Magic Chair, Fun Feet and Other Randomness

Since my last post, my people have pulled a tall chair out of the closet and have started putting Lily in it for some of her meals. I think this may be the magic chair that my cousins Hunter and Winston have told me about. They say that the tall chair magically drops food, so whenever my people put Lily in it I am sure to go check it out. They're just giving her cereal and veggies right now though, so no food has fallen yet. Here's a picture of Lily in her big girl chair.

Lily has also found her feet. She thinks they're a ton of fun and always has them up by her face. I'm teaching her well. I love to sleep with my feet in my face.

I've been working hard on the big bone my people bought me a week or so ago. Here's a picture of me with it before I started chewing on it.

Finally, here's just a cute picture of Lily. Hard to believe she's been living with us for 5 months already.

Confusion at the Store

I took my people to the store last night. They re-opened the Petsmart by our house, so we went to check it out. Plus, my people owed me a huge rawhide from Christmas. They get one for me every year and didn't this year...something about being distracted with a baby and not having a Petsmart open close by. Excuses. Anyway, we loaded up in the car last night and headed out. While we were there, two older ladies commented on how "pretty" I was. I much prefer to be described as handsome. It turns out they thought I was a girl! My people set them straight and all was well. Then they noticed Lily in her stroller. The one lady said "Oh, here's the pretty one. This is a boy, you can definitely tell." Man, was she embarrassed when my people had to correct her again! In her defense, Lily was wearing green and was holding a burp cloth such that you couldn't tell it was a dress. However, the burp cloth was pink with flowers so she should've been able to figure it out. Oh well. This happens a lot with both Lily and I, so our people are used to correcting everyone.

Also, I'm back on steroids and antibiotics. This stupid rash thing is back on my belly. I think my people found something at the store last night that will hopefully help me not break out like this in the future...at least not as regularly. We'll see.

I hear my friend Bailey has been enrolled in school. Poor thing. I always thought he was pretty well-behaved. I wonder what he did to make them put him in school?
